Edmonton blonde on cam - Xp wireless connection validating identity

If it doesn't help, you can just open the Dell WLAN utility, check the 'Let this tool' box again and it will be back like it was before.

Yesterday I reformatted a friends computer and reinstalled the OS and other software at my house. I brought her laptop and router to my house and it works fine. I tried to install the disc that came with the router, but it said something like the IP address wasn't static and I needed to imput the blah blah blah. Whatever PC was used when they installed Comcast needs to be connected to the router and the MAC address cloned to the router. It will be slightly inside the router housing so she'll need a paperclip to push it. She can then boot her laptop while the router does what its doing. Dot beside No for "Require a logon" and then all the way at the bottom, put the dot beside "Use Computer MAC Address" click Apply.

But since WPA/WPA allows for spaces, I recommend a sentence. Doesn't need to be long, but just make it random like: "The mouse juggles pineapples" something silly and random.

Apple is becoming more popular everyday (I love my Mac Book and it’s selling in record numbers this year), yet most people still have Windows PCs at home.

If you are running both Macs and PCs on your network, there’s a good chance you might want to share files between your Mac and PC.

This will reinstall the known good drivers and will recreate her wireless connection, try again to connect wireless. A word about WEP vs WPA/WPA2: Mainly it comes down to when/how you are authenticated. You get enough of them, use a program and it can put all the bits together to figure it out.

WPA/WPA2 only authenticates when you first connect.

Now open the windows wireless manager (My Network Places, View Network Connections, select the Dell wireless adapter, then click View available wireless networks), select the proper AP from the list, click Connect and configure the connection.

If you no longer have the intermittent connection problems when setup like that, it's time to call Dell.

FYI- her router (Netgear) login was "routerlogin.net". I did what you said, and change the address to the computer address.

my laptop with vista on is running just fine on the network..desktop downstairs which has been running just fine for a really long time..suddenly unable to connect to the network and keeps saying it couldn't find a certificate and it can't validate identity or something.

It does a 4 packet handshake to connect/authenticate and then that's it. Now you can break WPA/WPA2 as well if you capture the handshake packets.

But unlike WEP which is just a matter of having like 100,000 packets and the pass phrase can be reconstructed, WPA/WPA2 cracking is more of a dictionary brute force thing.

The process is fairly simple and should work as long as you are on the same network and don’t have any over zealous security settings configured on your Mac.
